EMPOWER | LEAD | MENTOR | ORGANIZE

Since its founding in 1988, the Women’s Network has been dedicated to advocating for working women, striving every day to uplift their voices, expand opportunities, and improve lives. Recognizing that women make up more than half of our union’s membership, the Network embraces their power as a driving force for change, progress, and solidarity.

We believe that when women lead and actively participate, our union grows stronger — whether at the bargaining table, in organizing campaigns, or in every space where workers’ voices deserve to be heard. The Women’s Network fosters sister-to-sister relationships, creating a supportive community where women inspire, mentor, and empower one another. Through these connections, members are encouraged to step into leadership roles within their unions and communities, making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of workers everywhere.

For over three decades, the Women’s Network has been a champion of women’s voices, proving that when women come together, they can transform workplaces, communities, and the labor movement itself. We invite all women to join us — to raise their voices, embrace leadership, and become agents of change who shape a brighter, stronger future for workers everywhere.

What We Do

Training

We equip women with the tools and confidence to lead through educational programs, workshops, and leadership development opportunities designed to strengthen their skills within the labor movement.

Political Action

We encourage active participation in the political process, helping women understand how legislation impacts workers and how their voices can shape labor-friendly policies by member to member outreach via phone banking, door knocking or post-card campaigns.

Organizing

We empower women to organize in their workplaces and communities, building collective strength to secure better wages, benefits, and working conditions.

Lobbying

We advocate for laws and policies that protect and advance the rights of working women, gender equality and healthcare access — meeting directly with lawmakers to make change happen.

Bargaining

We support women at the bargaining table by providing contract language and strategies that help ensure fair contracts and equitable treatment for all workers.

Community Outreach

We connect with communities to promote solidarity, awareness, and support for issues that affect working women—because strong communities make strong unions.
