Flormaria is an exemplary advocate for workers' rights, with a rich background in labor activism and leadership. Starting her journey at UFCW Local 888 after graduating from Syracuse University in 2012, she quickly immersed herself in the fight for fair treatment and representation of union members. Her commitment to this cause led her to pursue further education, earning a Master of Arts in Union Leadership and Administration from the University of Massachusetts in 2018.

Since then, Flormaria has consistently demonstrated her dedication to empowering workers. Her involvement as Secretary Treasurer of the Black Lives Matter Chapter in Paterson, NJ, since 2017 underscores her commitment to social justice and community activism. Moreover, her appointments to various executive boards within UFCW, including the Minority Coalition in 2018 and the Women's Network, highlight her leadership within the union movement. In 2024, Flormaria was appointed to be the Lead Region 1 Coordinator for the Women’s Network and in 2025 she was promoted to Co-Chair of Diversity on the Executive Board.

As a Field Representative for UFCW Local 888, Flormaria tirelessly advocates for job protection, worker's rights, and dignity in the workplace. Her passion for her work is evident in her ongoing efforts to build upon the legacy of past labor leaders and ensure that union members receive the representation they deserve.

Flormaria's multifaceted role as a representative and communications liaison reflects her comprehensive approach to labor advocacy, encompassing both direct member support and broader organizational leadership. With her vision and determination, she continues to make invaluable contributions to the labor movement, inspiring others to join her in the fight for a fair and just workplace for all.
