Meet the Region 4 Coordinators

The Women’s Network Region 4 Team covers Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

Paige Stephens is an Organizer with UFCW Local 75, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Local 75’s jurisdiction spans the I-75 corridor from Toledo, Ohio to Lexington, Kentucky, with additional locations in Indiana. Paige has proudly served the local for 13 years—spending 11 years as a Union Representative before transitioning to organizing, a role she finds deeply fulfilling.

Paige began her labor career with HERE Local 12 and UNITE HERE Local 1000, and has also worked with the AFL-CIO during political seasons, helping advance campaigns that strengthen workers’ rights. She currently serves on her local AFL-CIO Executive Board, representing the Southwest Ohio region.

In April 2024, Paige joined the UFCW Women’s Network Executive Board, where she is proud to collaborate with a passionate and dynamic Region 4 team. She actively supports initiatives that empower women and strengthen communities, including school supply drives, International Women’s Day events, and partnerships with the Minority Coalition for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Paige also helps organize training sessions and women’s development webinars that inspire leadership and solidarity across the region.

Christine Darrow

Christine Darrow has been a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) since 1999, when she began her journey at age 16 as a cashier. Her early experience in the workplace ignited a lifelong passion for advocating on behalf of working people and ensuring fair treatment, equity, and opportunity for all union members.

In 2021, Christine joined UFCW Local 880 as a Union Representative, bringing decades of firsthand knowledge and experience to the role. She now serves as Servicing Director, leading a team of twelve union representatives in their mission to support and empower members across the region. Christine also contributes her leadership and experience as a member of the Local 880 Executive Board and as a delegate to both the Tri-County and North Shore AFL-CIO.

In 2024, she expanded her advocacy by joining the UFCW Women’s Network as a Regional Committee Member for Region 4, where she works to elevate women’s voices and strengthen solidarity within the labor movement.

Christine’s dedication to service, mentorship, and equality continues to inspire those around her. Outside of her professional work, she is the proud mother of her son, Amari.

Karen Salazer

Karen Salazer has dedicated more than three decades to advocating for working people and strengthening the labor movement. She began her career as a grocery store clerk, proudly serving 20 years on the shop floor—17 of those as a Shop Steward and 7 as a Vice President for her local union. Her passion for representing workers and ensuring fair treatment led her to join the staff of UFCW Local 700 in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2013, where she continues to serve as a Union Representative.

In addition to her representative role, Karen also serves as the Recording Secretary and Legislative and Political Representative for Local 700, where she works to advance policies that protect and empower working families. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to advocacy, education, and equity in the workplace.

Karen became active in the UFCW Women’s Network in 2016, contributing to initiatives that support women’s leadership and development across the union. In 2024, she was appointed as one of the Region 4 Coordinators, where she continues to mentor, organize, and inspire women to take on greater roles within the labor movement.
