Mecca Ross
Mecca Ross grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and currently serves as a Region 6 Coordinator for the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW). Over the course of her 15-year career with the union, Mecca has become a dedicated advocate for workers’ rights and a passionate leader within the labor movement.
Throughout her time with UFCW, Mecca has worked across a wide range of industries, including retail, grocery, meatpacking, food processing, healthcare, and cannabis. Her experience representing workers from diverse sectors has strengthened her belief that strong unions are built through meaningful relationships, community engagement, and collective action.
Mecca is deeply committed to building partnerships and alliances within the communities she serves, recognizing that these connections are essential to sustaining a union that truly reflects and supports working people. She is especially passionate about helping workers understand the value and power of a union contract and guiding them through the organizing process to achieve one.
Driven by the belief that empowered workers create stronger workplaces and communities, Mecca advocates for a workforce rooted in equality, equity, education, and opportunity. Her leadership continues to inspire workers to stand together and fight for lasting change through solidarity and union power.
